Herman Nys
Prof. Dr. Herman Nys (1951) zette medisch recht als academische discipline in België op de kaart, ondermeer als auteur van hét standaardwerk medisch recht in de APR –reeks. Als emeritus is hij internationaal nog gedreven actief als eerste ondervoorzitter van de Europese Adviescommissie Ethiek van de Europese Commissie, hoofdredacteur van de European Journal of Health Law en editor van de International Encyclopaedia of Medical Law. Hij is voorzitter van het AZ Nikolaas en het Centrum voor zorgonderzoek en consultancy LUCAS, KU Leuven. Hij is gehuwd met Riet Leysen, rechter in het Grondwettelijk Hof.
